Campbell Brown, born August 28, 1983, in Perth, Australia, is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (as of 2011).
Brown is the son of Australian rules football player and West Australian Football League Hall of Famer Malcolm ‘Mal’ Brown, and attended Scotch College, Melbourne and Deakin University where he studied Sports Management.
Brown wears the No. 30 guernsey and is noted for his overall aggression and toughness. He debuted for the Hawks in 2002, a year in which he received a nomination for the Rising Star award.
Brown claimed the role as the club’s most aggressive player a number of times, finding a home in the back half as a playmaking defender. He’s tough to beat one-on-one and relishes contests, finishing fourth for the club in contested marks. In 2005, he was voted the team’s most courageous player.
In 2010, Brown left the Hawks to join the new AFL club, the Gold Coast Suns.
