James O’Connor, born July 5, 1990, in Southport, Queensland, Australia, is an Australian international rugby union footballer.
Growing up in Australia with two brothers, there was never a shortage of footballs being thrown around the backyard and there was little doubt in O’Connor’ mind that he wanted to wear the Green and Gold of Australia.
O’Connor’s professional career began with “Western Force” in 2008, at age 18, making him the youngest ever player to compete at the Super Rugby level. The success continued into 2010 with James recording his first Super Rugby point scoring century milestone, scoring 104 points in 11 games for the Force.
O’Connor is a versatile ‘utility back’. He said, “I feel more comfortable at 12 as a second ball player. I also like 15. You definitely get a lot of space. I just want to get on the field whether it is 10, 12 or 15.”
In 2012, O’Connor moved to “Melbourne Rebels” with a two year contract.
