Owen Wright, born January 16, 1990 in Culburra Beach, Australia, is an Australian professional surfer on the ASP World Tour.
Whilst Owen is one of the most focused and driven individuals the sport of surfing has ever seen, he has always maintained a down-to-earth attitude about life and his career. But don’t let this calm demeanour fool you when it comes to his work ethic. Owen regularly surfs three times a day and leaves no stone unturned in his physical and mental preparation that is boosting him to the top of the sport – fast!
While his smooth, yet tight in the pocket, style is textbook, it is Owen’s aerial manoeuvres that have drawn global acclaim. By using his height and flexibility to his advantage Owen has developed a unique style that is changing surf as we know it.
His career highlights include the 2011 1st Place Quiksilver Pro, New York; Ranked #3 on the 2011 ASP World Tour; 2010 ASP Tour Rookie of the Year; and 2009 Australasian Pro/Junior Series Champion.
