Tom Bateman, born in 1989, in Oxford, England, is an English actor best known for his starring role as Giulino Medici in the television series, “Da Vinci’s Demons”.
Since graduating from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he was awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Scholarship for 2009-2011, Bateman has made his mark on the theatre world.
In March 2012, he appeared in Jamie Lloyd’s revival of John Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi at the Old Vic alongside Eve Best and in 2011 took on the role of Claudio in the critically acclaimed production of “Much Ado about Nothing” at the Wyndhams Theatre in London.
Bateman has also appeared in Trevor Nunn’s production of Lion in Winter with Robert Lindsay as well as the the final season of BBC One’s long running spy drama Spooks.
In 2013, Bateman joined the cast of the historical fantasy drama series, “Da Vinci’s Demons” where he played Giulino Medici, a dashing bon vivant who enjoys the spoils of his position while letting his older brother shoulder the burdens of leadership. That same year, he landed the role of Danny Hillier in “The Tunnel”.
