Thomas Edward Hopper (born 28 January 1985) is an English actor who was born in Coalville, Leicestershire. He went to Ashby School. He studied acting at Rose Bruford College, graduating with an honours degree in 2006.
Hopper was cast in As You Like It at the Watford Palace Theatre and has appeared in various television programs and films such as Saxon, Kingdom and Doctors. He portrayed Marcus in a comedy-horror film Tormented, about a bullied teenager who comes back from the dead to take revenge on his classmates. He has also appeared in Merlin, Doctor Who and Casualty. His current screen role is in the Neil Marshall drama series Black Sails. Set twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island, Tom plays the role of Billy Bones. He has also joined the cast of HBO‘s Game of Thrones for its seventh season. Tom has provided his image to causes supporting awareness of colon cancer screenings and treatment, as well as other cancers that are male specific such as testicular and penile cancer. At the same time he affirms his heterosexuality but embraces his gay friends and fan base.
